Ashley Perkins Dressage is thrilled to announce that this coming spring we will be relocating to Dr. Robert (Bob) Jackson DVM’s beautiful Foxworth Farm in Versailles, Kentucky. It is at this beautiful 51 acre farm that I will have the pleasure of acting as the resident trainer and sales agent for Bob and his long time business partner Theresa Schnell, of Rock Solid Warmbloods.
Together the three of us we will focus on the development of the special young horses in our dual breeding programs as well as short and long-term training and sales for outside horses under Ashley’s guidance and management. All of this has become possible with the addition of a fully equipped 10 stall training barn that is currently under construction adjacent to the existing indoor on the property. This will bring the total to 19 stalls on property offering us the space to grow and welcome new members of our program. We look forward to sharing our knowledge and passion for dressage with the growing Dressage and Eventing community in the greater Lexington area.
Over the last number of years a few very special horses owned and bred by Bob and Theresa have brought us together and we are excited to be taking the next steps in this adventure together. Our partnership is based on a passion for the empathetic, correct, and competitive development of the next generation of dressage athletes.
Ashley Perkins is a USDF bronze, silver, and gold medalist. She began riding at an early age and it did not take long to see that it would be a life long passion. After many years of Pony Club and Eventing, her focus shifted to dressage. In 2005, Ashley was given the opportunity to work for Susan Jaccoma, a successful Grand Prix rider who was located in Ashley’s home state of Maine.
In 2006, Ashley graduated from the University of New Hampshire, where she majored in Animal Science with a concentration in Equine Science and Management. After graduation, she spent the following four years working as assistant trainer for Cloverlea Dressage, owned and operated by Beth and Jennifer Baumert.
In 2010, Ashley began working with Team Tate Dressage, owned by JJ Tate in Chesapeake City, Maryland. These two positions combined provided her with many invaluable training, teaching, managing, and competitive opportunities.
In 2017, she earned her gold medal on Veredus, her 15-year-old Dutch gelding who she developed herself from first level all the way to Grand Prix.
In 2018, Ashley was thrilled to have the opportunity to join her friend and mentor J.J. Tate once again, spending the summer months at Blue Ridge Farm in Landrum, SC and the winter months at Yellowbird Farm in Wellington, FL! Along with training and teaching alongside J.J., Ashley assisted in the management of the business and sales program at Team Tate dressage.
In 2021, Ashley rode East Point JS, owned by Barbara Bezpa and John Roblin, to the 4th Level Musical Dressage Championship at US Dressage Finals with a personal best score of 72.30.
